[Legal Times] Hyojung (Kelly) Shin Appointed as Diversity & Inclusion Officer of the International Bar Association (IBA) Arbitration Committee

Hyojung (Kelly) Shin, of SOMA Law Group, has been appointed as the Diversity and Inclusion Officer of the International Bar Association (IBA) Arbitration Committee, effective 1 January 2026. This appointment was featured on 14 January 2026, by Legal Times, Korea’s premier legal publication.

The IBA Arbitration Committee is recognized globally as the preeminent body for international arbitration practitioners. Ms. Shin previously demonstrated her leadership in the field as the first Korean lawyer to serve as Co-Chair of the IBA Arb40 Subcommittee. As the IBA has recently reaffirmed the organisation's commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in law, her new role is regarded as a key position within the Committee.
